Our Vision
Every Californian Deserves the Opportunity to Live, Work, and Raise a Family in the Golden State
By ensuring every Californian ages 0-3 has the care they need, we create a stronger, more vibrant California where all of us can succeed together.
WHY NOW?
The Longer We Wait to Prioritize Child Care, the More it Costs Californians
The time is now to transform the child care system—for our children, our providers, and our future.
Every year:

Our Country Loses
Families Lose
Employers Lose
Communities Lose

What is ECE?
Early care and education (ECE) provides children ages 0-3 with the learning experiences, nurturing environments, and responsive caregiving that develop healthy brains and social emotional skills.
Whether you’ve heard it called child care, early childhood development, Head Start/Early Head Start, daycare—each of these are ECE.
In a state as big and diverse as California, child care takes many forms, from professional providers to grandparents. In every form, it sets the foundation for children’s lifelong learning and well-being.
Who We Are
A Golden State For Kids brings together child advocacy organizations, families, providers, and businesses to build demand for accessible child care. We work together and with partners to improve child care throughout the state, from access to quality.
