Zero to Three Jamboree

Zero to Three Jamboree

A Celebration of Early Care and Education, Family, and Community

On Saturday, September 20, families, caregivers, and early childhood champions came together at the Autry Museum of the American West for the Zero to Three Jamboree—a vibrant celebration hosted by A Golden State For Kids.

The event honored the vital role child care plays in keeping Los Angeles thriving. From joyful play to powerful conversations, the Jamboree was a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports LA’s littlest learners.

Child care is what keeps

Los Angeles going

Here’s what made the day so special

The Jamboree kicked off with heartfelt words from leaders and champions of early childhood: Dannie Tillman, Senior Campaign Director, A Golden State For Kids; Cristina Alvarado, Executive Director, Child Care Alliance of Los Angeles; Gene and Mindy Stein, Stein Early Childhood Development Fund; Lena Kazer Alvarez, parent of two toddlers; and Judith Terrell, provider and business owner, My Nana’s House Family Child Care.

Their words grounded the event in purpose and possibility. The campaign also launched the A Golden State For Kids theme song. Have a listen:

Parents, providers, and advocates connected with experts, picked up resources, and learned more about programs that uplift young children and their families across Los Angeles.

Families enjoyed hands-on activities that sparked creativity and joy—contributing to a live mural with artist Toni Weathers, face painting, music with Ladybug Music, quiet craft zones for coloring, crown-making, and stories. Refreshments from Summit Events Catering and treats from Lolo’s Sweet Ice kept the energy high throughout the day.

The Zero to Three Jamboree wasn’t just a festival—it was a celebration of the essential role families, providers, and communities play in shaping LA’s future, starting from birth. It honored the love, labor, and learning that happens every day in homes, child care centers, and neighborhoods across the city.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. This is just the beginning—stay tuned for more events, stories, and ways to support early childhood in California.
